DogZenergy is privileged to work with and watch the best dogs in San Diego! Since we have such a plethora of fabulous pups, each week we will begin introducing them to you.
This week we will feature our regal borzio's, Roald and Brasletka Amundsen. Both Ro and Letka have been featured on our blog including; The La Jolla Christmas Parade, Thoughts of a Zen Dog, and Zen Dog Weekly Training Tip. They have such different and distinctive personalities, and are always a favorite amongst our team and everyone they meet! Take it away Ro!
State your full name.
"My name is Roald Amundsen. I had 5 brothers and we were all named for explorers but when we were 3 months old we were all adopted thru Borzoi Rescue. That is how I came to live with Bob and Gay and Trey and Lillyrose, 2 other Borzoi in New Mexico and La Jolla. Now Gay and I stay in La Jolla and we have a beautiful new companion, Letka. Her real name is Girl on a Swing, but her other owner called her Brasletka. Gay and I call her Letka."
What’s your favorite toy and why?
"I love my toys. I had a fish that said Oy Vey and a gorilla that shrieked but now I have a thing that looks like a dead possum. Letka's quite the hunter. She has caught 3 possums, 2 in 1 night. The first day she was with us she ended up on the neighbor’s roof and then ran all the way to Mission Blvd. She doesn’t do things like that anymore as it made Gay and I very unhappy and worried about her."
What does your typical day consist of, and what would your ideal day include?
"During the week Jake takes us to the dog park in the morning and Brandi takes us to see Larry (and his treats) in the afternoon. On the weekends we like to go to dog beach with Gay. My ideal day would be to go to the beach at Windansea early in the morning and be able to run like I used to, and then come home and after breakfast snuggle up for the rest of the day with my girls!"
What is the one question you wish your human would stop asking you, and the one question you wish your human would never stop asking you?
"I hate it when I am all snuggled up on the top of the bed and Letka is on the bottom of it. We only leave a few inches for Gay and she is always asking us to move over. I also hope she never stops asking me that because that would mean I wasn’t on the bed with her any more."
If you were going to win an award at the "Oscar Pet Awards" would you want to win it for 1.) Cuteness 2.) Heroism/Courage 3.) Sassiness 4) Loyalty 5) Fashionista. Give us a quick example/story of why we should pick you!
"I have a great smile! If you didn’t know I was smiling you might be afraid. I taught Letka to smile only she is more demure than I am. Brandi took a video of her which makes everybody laugh. So maybe my academy award would be for cuteness. But then when Trey was still alive we saved Gay from a pit bull attack and chased it away, so I am very brave. Heroism /courage? I am very loyal and loving. Quite handsome. So I guess I would win in all categories, including best director. Please see the best picture of me smiling!"
